Club Background
Texins Archery Club (TAC) was originally created as an employee benefit for Texas Instruments and affiliates in the 1960′s. In the late 90′s, TI spun off its club organizations under the umbrella organization Texins Association as a 501-C non-profit club, but continued to provide the club property (8880 Restland Blvd. Dallas) owned by TI on a longterm lease. In April of 2010 TI reclaimed the land and the club relocated to a new home at the Elm Fork Shooting Complex in northwest Dallas (pictured above). Already one of the largest archery clubs in Texas, and well-known for developing great archery facilities, TAC established a multi-featured larger range.
In 2011, Texins Archery Club helped sponsor TexasArcheryAcademy.org (a 501 (c) (3) non-profit), with the goal of introducing more people to the sport of archery in Texas. The state archery indoor training facility at 600 Accent Dr. Plano TX 75075 was established – a 30,000sf archery academy unique to this region of the country. During a record breaking brutal summer this added an indoor archery venue for membership to enjoy.
The resulting fantastic growth in the local archery community, and the discontinued relationship with TI. necessitated a new organization/name to resolve confusion between entities and streamline management. Beginning 2012, Texins Archery Club will transition to Texans Archery Club (TAC), a division of Texas Archery Academy managing multiple archery venues increasing the benefits of membership. Each property/range will have separate name identity but one membership.
